"Vikings" Season 4 Part 2 is set to return and Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) is coming back to Kategatt after many years of being away. The series is also confirmed to be renewed for Season 5.
According to a report in Jobs & Hire, as Ragnar returns to Kategatt, he mentors his son Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen) to become the future king in "Vikings" Season 4 Part 2. Aside from Ivar the Boneless, Ragnar also mentors his other son, Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) to have the throne.
Even though Ragnar mentors his two sons to be king, he has Ivar the Boneless as his personal favorite in "Vikings" Season 5. As Ragnar returns to Kategatt, he is seen to be older and weaker. In fact, he has become a totally changed man from being gone for long.
Mobile & Apps reports that Ragnar gets to meet King Aelle (Ivan Kaye) as he comes back in "Vikings" Season 5. Ivar the Boneless is speculated to be the rightful one to follow his father's footsteps. He seems to be wiser than anyone and has proven many times through his skills that he is just the right one to be chosen king.
"Vikings" Season 5 still moves along with the conflict between Ragnar and his brother Rollo (Clive Standen). In fact, series creator, Michael Hirst hinted that the show has always been about Rollo and Ragnar. As the series moves along, Rollo becomes more fit in fighting battles.
Meanwhile, a report in Movie Pilot indicates that "Vikings" the series is based on the true story of the Scandanavian stories about the warrior Ragnar Lothbrok. The characters of the series are all based on these stories. However, the storyline does not really follow the real epic.
Ragnar's death may be depicted differently in "Vikings" series. A new trailer indicates that Ragnar is seen to hang himself on a tree. However this is not the way how Ragnar's life will end.
"Vikings" Season 5 is reported to be doing the set in Morocco. Part 2 of the fourth season is set to air on November 30, 2016. Season 5 is expected to air in 2017.
