Adult Swim is pretty much reserved when it comes to the premiere date of "Rick and Morty" Season 3. There have been rumors going around that the animated series will have a delayed release date, but it turns out that there will be new episodes before this year ends.
"Rick and Morty" Season 3 was renewed early. It was to the delight of the fans that a third season was announced when the second season was still airing. Fans have long waited for the renewal of the series and follow the adventures of Rick and Morty, but since Adult Swim was quiet about updates, there were speculations that it got delayed. But as Inverse reported, new writers Erica Rosbe and Sarah Carbiener revealed at the Chicks Who Script podcast that the new season will premiere before 2016 ends.
Although the scriptwriters didn't mention a specific date, it should be noted that season 1 premiered on Dec. 2. This could mean that "Rick and Morty" Season 3 will also debut sometime next month. As for the plot, it is widely speculated that Mr. Meeseeks will return to the series. Show executives have yet to confirm this but according to reports, the idea of Mr. Meeseek's comeback has been considered.
Other fan theories for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 suggest that Rick will pick up where it left off. Rick will escape the space prison, which will prompt the Galactic Federation to catch him. To be successful with its plan, the Federation will even catch all Ricks. They are said to form a group composed of elite villains who had a run-in with Rick in the past. The plot twist to this theory is that a prominent character is said to be behind all this.
Then again, Adult Swim or the show executives haven't gone into detail as to what "Rick and Morty" Season 3 can bring to the table. What fans can expect, though, is that there will be more exciting episodes for this new season that they need to look forward to.
