PlayStation VR Latest News & Updates: Time Magazine Names PlayStation VR One Of 2016's 25 Best Inventions

Time Magazine has announced its best inventions of 2016 where several product and services are included in its annual list. Tech giant Sony's PlayStation VR is one of the inventions that made the cut.

According to Time Magazine, Sony's PlayStation VR is especially designed to work with PlayStation 4 console which people already own. "In order to access the most cutting-edge virtual reality, people typically have to shell out thousands of dollars--not just for a headset but for a computer that's powerful enough to support it," Time Magazine wrote.

PlayStation VR costs $400 which requires a PS4 that costs about $300 and above as well as a PlayStation Camera. In October this year, the PlayStation VR went on sale but there is no certain figure is made known, according to GameSpot.

Jimmy Thang of GameSpot shared his thoughts about the PlayStation VR and said that he wants the device to achieve something although it would be too early to recommend it at the moment. However, he reiterated that VRs don't make people sick contrary to other people's impressions and indicated that the PlayStation VR is a must-buy right now for $499.99 bundle alongside a PlayStation Camera, PlayStation VR Worlds and two Move controllers.

"If you have a PS4 and are simply curious about VR, I'd hold out until more titles are released. While there are a handful of fun titles, there's nothing that I've played at launch so far to indicate to me that the PSVR is a must-buy right now. For everyone else, I'd recommend saving up for a better reality," said Jimmy Thang.

Apart from the PlayStation VR, other inventions that are included in Time Magazine's annual list of 25 best inventions are Flyte (the Levitating Lightbulb), Morpher (the Folding Bike Helmet), Solar Roof (the Solar panels that don't stick out), Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 (shoes that tie themselves), the unusual football field that fits anywhere and more.
