Ben Affleck's "The Batman" won't be arriving in theaters for at least a year, but fans are already reeling about the standalong superhero flick. The latest news surrounding the Affleck starrer is that the may not include villain Selina Kyle A.K.A. Catwoman, one of the most famous Batman villains ever.
The news comes via Cinemablend, which reports that "The Batman" won't include the popular antagonist in the film. Journalist Erik Davis took to Twitter to share a conversation between himself and Sienna Miller, who is interested in playing Selina Kyle A.K.A. Catwoman. However, the character is apparently "not in the script" for "The Batman."
Miller currently appears in Affleck's latest directorial project, "Live by Night." It wouldn't be difficicult to picture her pulling some strings to audition for the role of villain Selina Kyle A.K.A. Catwoman. Unfortunately, "The Batman" isn't including the character in the film.
According to Yahoo! Movies, Selina Kyle A.K.A. Catwoman has been portrayed by several actresses throughout various DC films in the past. The most popular include Michelle Pfieffer in 1992's "Batman Returns," Halle Berry in 2004's "Catwoman," and Anne Hathaway in 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises." Selina Kyle A.K.A. Catwoman is also portrayed by Camren Bicondova in the TV series "Gotham."
While the upcoming Ben Affleck film "The Batman" doesn't have a release date attached to it yet, fans are already anticipating how it will fare given the new approach DC has with "Justice League." Based on the trailer alone, it seems like DC is taking a page from Marvel's book and creating a more lighthearted approach to the superhero film following the dismal reviews of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
