White House Fashion Designer Sophie Theallet Urges Industry To Refuse To Dress Melania, Ivanka Trump

White House fashion designer Sophie Theallet is urging the industry to refuse to dress the Trumps and has called on fellow couturier to also do so. This radical top fashion designer is taking a bold stance by her principles and beliefs, against discrimination and chauvinism. She is setting a different style of being heard instead of taking it to the streets to which she is morally opposed to.

This French designer admits that designing for the First Lady is a great honor in the fashion world. However, she cannot see herself servicing the next occupants of the White House -- the Trumps.

Theallet, an immigrant, admits she is "well aware it is not wise to get involved in politics," but that the bottom line of her business is "not just about money" and she must stand by her values. Those values, she writes, do not support "the rhetoric of racism, sexism and xenophobia unleashed by Donald Trump's presidential campaign." An excerpt from her open letter is posted on Twitter.

Kaelen Haworth, celebrated for her creations for Blake Lively and Elizabeth Banks, is also taking a stand against the newly-elected President. She stated after the election that earnings from pieces sold on her website would be donated to organizations at odds with Trump. The list includes Panned Parenthood, Black Lives Matter and Everytown for Gun Safety, according to Stylish.

Opposing Thoughts On This Chasm

There's been a lot of dialogue from the time when Donald Trump's victory was finalized.
