We already got a tease of Chris Evans' Captain America rocking some S.H.I.E.L.D. Under Armor and hanging with Scarlet Johansson's Black Widow a few weeks ago for Captain America 2, and now fans can finally enjoy a first look at the character behind the film's name: The Winter Soldier.
Filming for Captain America: The Winter Solider is well underway in Cleveland right now, and a dedicated fan was able to nab this early picture of Sebastian Stan in full-on Russian warrior mode. While Stan played an upstanding do-gooder as the best friend of Steve Rogers in the orignal film, his transformation after his apparent death shows a complete 180-degree switch. Marvel geeks will be very happy to know that the film version of Winter Soldier looks very much like his comic counterpart, complete with long hair, a menacing black mask, a leather suit, and a pretty dangerous looking rifle.
Still hungry for more pre-release Cap action? The Cleveland Plain Dealer has a few other set photos for you to feast your eyes on. Their gallery includes car explosions (who doesn't love those) and a few images of a poor soul holding a "No Pictures Please!" sign. Studios should know by now that comic fans are just like the supervillains they love; They'll find a nefarious way to get what they want.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier officially hits theatres on April 4, 2014, so fans of the Super Soldier have less than a year to go to experience Steve's next adventure. Cap 2 won't be the only fix of big-screen superhero action that Avengers diehards can look forward to; Thor: The Dark World is out this November, and Marvel just released some all-new screens from the space-spanning saga featuring Thor himself as well as the villanous Malekith. Which Marvel Studios film are you clawing for the most?
