"Logan" is an upcoming 2017 American Superhero film featuring Wolverine produced by Marvel Entertainment and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is intended to be the tenth installment in the X-men movie series, as well as the final Wolverine solo movie, following "Xmen Origins: Wolverine" (2009) and "The Wolverine" (2013).
There are a few details regarding "Logan" plot but, there are plenty of speculations online about what to expect. The only thing that is certain is fans can expect a darker take on the character with its rated R classification. On top of that, movie director James Mangold seems to leave some information like bread crumbs on social media.
In fact, it is via Mangold's tweets that led to the reveal of the film's first poster and the second part of the script, but The Wrap shared some details about the movie after the reveal. According to the entertainment website, the movie will feature the "Old Man Logan" storyline which will be darker than any "Wolverine" or "X-men" movie that came before it, with "Logan" himself in terrible condition as his healing factor begins to fade.
In addition to these story details The Wrap indicated that the young girl shown holding the hand of "Logan" in the trailer is another mutant. Apparently, mutant births in 2024 (movie timeline) has dropped off considerably due to reasons yet to be known. As the movie progresses, a government-type operation referred to as Transigen is turning mutant children into machines, and it might be up to Logan to stop them.
The upcoming "Logan" movie has an outstanding cast led by Hugh Jackman (Logan), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Richard E. Grant (Zander Rice) Stephen Merchant (Caliban) and much more. Logan hits theaters on March 3, 2017.
"Logan" will be the last time that fans will see Hugh Jackman portraying the role of the mutant hero. This was confirmed by the actor himself. To date, the actor has played Wolverine in all films comprising the "X-men" franchise, including two movies that were centered on the character.
