Respawn Entertainment doesn't seem to be certain in making a third game for "Titanfall" following the unsuccessful venture of trying to match the sales of the original game. Even after launching "Titanfall 2" on PlayStation 4 in addition to Xbox and PC, the game still failed in its sales.
According to Kitguru, although Electronic Arts doesn't appear to be concerned about the sales of "Titanfall 2", Respawn Entertainment is. Many gaming enthusiasts praised the campaign and multiplayer changes which makes the game a success in terms of critical reception.
In an interview with Glixel, Vince Zampella, the head of Respawn Entertainment said that the studio is pleased with critical reception of "Titanfall 2" but it is uncertain about the sales that it made. ""Titanfall 2" is, critically, a huge success. We're really happy with all the reviews and the positive sentiment. Sales, it's too early to tell," he said.
"We don't know yet", though he also kept the door open by adding that "we'd definitely like to tell more of the story and the universe," added Vince Zampella in regards to the status of a third "Titanfall" game.
Moving forward, it doesn't look as if a sequel would be brought to an end since Electronic Arts said once that it is "committed to the franchise". Moreover, CEO Andrew Wilson recently defended the release of "Titanfall 2" in a call with investors.
"Titanfall" is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One on March 11, 2014; an Xbox 360 version ported by Bluepoint Games was released April 8, 2014.
The game was highly anticipated as the debut title from developers formerly behind the successful "Call of Duty" franchise. "Titanfall" won over 60 awards at its E3 2013 reveal, including a record-breaking six E3 Critics Awards and "Best of Show" from several media outlets.
