Apple fans and iPhone users got a bit disappointed because the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus only had a few improvements. It also ditched its headphone jack and kept the same outdated exterior design that debuted in 2014 via the iPhone 6. Now, a lot of Apple supporters are expecting huge improvements for the iPhone 8.
According to a report from 9to5Mac, the iPhone 8 will get a major chassis redesigns and component upgrades featuring an OLED screen for about 5.2-inches in size. It will also make two new iPhones with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays. The iPhone 8 will be more iterative successor to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
The iPhone 8 super high resolution OLED screen stretches from edge to edge of the device. Reports claim that Apple is planning to get rid of the home button of iPhone 8 and transform it into a virtual on screen button.
According to a report from BGR, the Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple's plan is to release three new iPhone models in the year 2017, a 4.7-inch iPhone 8 with an LCD screen, a 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus with an LCD screen and a premium 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus with an OLED panel. OLED panels for iPhone are thinner and it offers richer and more vibrant colors compared to LCD panels, OLED panels are also technically more challenging to manufacture. And because OLED screens are very difficult to produce, the manufacturers are still looking for a way to manufacture the displays in mass quantities for mass production of iPhone 8.
Samsung is now commanding a near-monopoly on high-resolution OLED display production, with the companies LG, Sharp, Japan Display and a few other smaller manufacturers. Apple has an exclusive deal with Samsung for next year and it is for screens larger than five inches for the iPhone 8.
Samsung, however, needs the panels for its own phones, which sell in the millions, an it is building extra production capacity. But, the process will take time that is why Apple is playing it safe and releasing only one new iPhone 8 model with organic LED panel. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more iPhone 8 news and updates!
