A much long and detailed trailer was released of the upcoming new series offering from Netflix, "A Series of Unfortunate Events". The trailer gives viewers a closer look at Neil Patrick Harris' representation of the villainous character and the evil guardian of the Baudelaire children, Count Olaf.
The latest trailer of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" features Harris' Count Olaf wearing various numbers of costumes and disguises as he tries to trick the Baudelaire children in stealing their parent's fortune according to People. The trailer also captures the series' dark and witty sense of humor where some outrageous punchlines were delivered by Harris.
One of the memorable disguises in "A Series of Unfortunate Event" extended trailer was when Harris' Count Olaf disguises himself as Captain Sham, the giant androgynous person that guards the Captain Sham's Sailboat Rentals. Another disguise that was featured was Detective Dupin, which was inspired by poet Edgar Allan Poe, and sports a noticeable unibrow.
Niel Patrtick Harris was also seen as Shirley the very fashionable lady who wore pink from head to toe and wearing a chic pinup curls on his hair. Along with the featured costumes by Count Olaf, the "A Series of Unfortunate Event" trailer was narrated by Patrick Warbutron who plays the supposed writer of the book, Lemony Snicket.
The trailer of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" also gave the first look of actors Alfre Woodard as Aunt Josephine, Joan Cusack as Justice Strauss, Catherine O'Hara as Dr. Georgina Orwell and Usman Ally as Hook-Handed Man. Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes will play the Baudelaire siblings Violer and Klaus, respectively.
The first season of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" with eight episodes will start streaming on Netflix on January 13, 2017 and will be directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. "A Series of Unfortunate Events" is inspired by the series of novels of the same name, which were written by Daniel Handler.
