Ever since the Galaxy S4 hit stores last month, the rumor mills has turned its attention to the next big thing from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 3. And according to the latest information available, the device will come with a 13 megapixel camera, 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization.
The rumor is sourced from a Korean publication named ETNews (via Android Authority) which reported that Samsung is apparently working on incorporating OIS capabilities into the super-sized handset allowing users to capture improved, high quality videos and images using its rear camera.
OIS is a technology, seen in a couple of cameras and mobile devices, used to bring down image blurring caused by motion when taking photographs or shooting videos. Although software-based image stabilization is used in many modern mobile devices, IOS technology can deal with motion-related issues at the lens or sensor level.
The unnamed sources also indicated that the development team is also looking to introduce 3x optical zoom capabilities to Galaxy Note 3's camera; however, admitted that this is not confirmed at this point in time as they are concerned that this feature would affect the thickness of the device.
According to various other rumors, the device will feature a 5.99-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, a quad-core processor, and will sport Samsung's latest touch-wiz nature UX interface with SPEN functions. The device is rumored to run on Android 4.2.2 or the upcoming 4.3. It's highly anticipated that the South Korean electronics major will unveil the Galaxy Note 2 successor at this year's Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin, or IFA which will take place this coming September.
