It is a fact that Google nowadays is placing a lot of efforts and resources to make Google Pixel one of the top smartphones in the county and ambitiously, in the whole world. However, as "Android phones" are powered by Google, it seems that all of their time is not sufficient in making updates best for everyone. Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X's Android 7.1 updates have lesser features as compared to Android Nougat update of Google Pixel.
According to Tech Times, the recent Nougat updates for Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X have apparently lesser features as what the Nougat update are designed for Google Pixel, Google's brand of smartphone. It is also said that Google already pulled out Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P from their online stores to provide space for their smartphone designs. Additionally, some features that are available on the Nougat update for Google Pixel, including fingerprint gestures and night more, are absent to the Nougat update for Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.
In connection with this as well as other previously reported Nougat update issues with Nexus 6P and 5X, Google stated in an interview that this misses on the Android 7.1 updates for the Nexus 6P and 5X are not intentional. The company claimed that the only reason why Night mode is not available on the mentioned devices is the fact that it Nougat needs a certain type of driver to perform night mode on Nexus 6P and Nexus 5x, something that Google doesn't have as of the moment.
On the other hand, owners of Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are not so happy with the big difference on the Nougat upgrade that they have as compared to what Google Pixel features has, Nexus owners calls Google's move as a marketing tactic.
