With the release of Sid Meier's Civilization VI, gamers are expecting its modding tools to be released by its developer Firaxis. There's no word yet from the developer as to when it would be out but its improved set over Civilization V is anticipated.
PC Gamer has some instructions on installing the mods and also listed the best mods so far for Civilization VI to help other gamers who have played the game and have worked on their mods but want to muddle it up slightly.
Even though it's an early alpha, a map pack from an infamous modder Gedemon called Yet Not Another Map Pack (YNAMP) for Civilization VI works fine and includes Earth-shaped maps with the accurate set off locations for each culture. It also adds new and bigger map sizes. YNAMP can be downloaded from Github for Civilization VI.
Civilization VI doesn't have a production queue when it was released. Production Queue solves the issue which adds up an appealing queue on the upper-left side of the production menu. The Production Queue mod can be downloaded here.
For gamers who fancy building seaside cities and civilizations on little islands, Improved Water Yields makes cities on tiny islands and canal cities more feasible. It leaves the base yield for water tiles alone but also adds important bonuses such as +1 food to every water tile when building a harbor and +1 food to sea resources when constructing a lighthouse. This mod is great for Civilization VI players who want better yield.
Adding 12 unique civilization-specific units, Moar Units has its own special stats which make each civilization a little exceptional. Click here to download it.
Smoother Difficulty won't have Al players send an army in the Ancient Era. However, it would still get bonuses to Production, Gold, Science and Culture.
PhotoKinetik (Westeros) is a ReShade preset that mutes Civilization VI colors for a more Civilization V look. It also adds heavy depth of field.
Better Trade Screen carries tons of improvements like a new sorting option to the Trade Overview screen. It is one of the quality life improvement UI mods for Civilization VI.
The UI mod sets more information with fewer clicks like showing cities' housing on the map screen. It can be downloaded from Github.
Lastly, PC Gamer also suggested to add starting units, or limit the Al's unit bonuses on harder difficulties but ensure that the Eras.xml is backed up before anything else.
