'Doctor Strange 2' Release Date, News & Update: 2 New Villains To Face Benedict Cumberbatch!

"Doctor Strange 2" next villains throughout all realms are believed to be lining up now to defeat the Sorcerer Supreme. With the original title defying expectations after earning $80 million in weekend box office, and Dormammu's plan of destroying the planet has been stopped, several reports indicate the new villains to face Benedict Cumberbatch.

Baron Mordo

The next villain in "Doctor Strange 2" is another sorcerer, Baron Mordo, who reportedly got lost on his way, seeking for The Ancient One that has been drawing her power from The Dark Dimension. Mordo has been introduced in the comic books as a villain that is bent on destroying The Ancient One and Strange. But as explained by film director Scott Derrickson, presenting Mordo as an ally prior to being a villain was needed, in order for the audience to understand the impact of his transformation.

Nightmare

The "Doctor Strange 2" director also mentioned another cosmic big villain, Nigthmare. Derrickson revealed that he was planning to introduce the character on the big screen. However, the original title was not able to do so due to the fact that the idea was a bit too complex to include.

The character of Nightmare first appeared in the comics in 1963 as the ruler of the Dream Dimension, where humans visit during sleep. Based on reports, Nightmare sports a green hair and has a black horse named Dreamstalker, according to report.

Meanwhile, Stan Lee of Marvel Comics can be seen in his latest movie appearance via "Doctor Strange" as a bus passenger reading an Aldous Huxley book entitled "The Doors of Perception", unmindful of a dimension-warping showdown that is happening in Manhattan.

Lee, along with Steve Ditko, created the comics in the 60's, in which the Marvel-Disney movie is based. But for the comic-book writer, his favorite screen cameo would have to be his quick appearance in last year's "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Nola reported. Watch Doctor Strange Official Trailer 2
