Destiny From Bungie Confirmed For Xbox One

Bungie Studios has announced that the company’s upcoming RPG FPS Destiny will be releasing on Microsoft’s newly announced next-gen gaming console Xbox One.

Destiny, the persistent online multiplayer shooter, was first showcased at Sony’s PlayStation 4 reveal event. And although there was a lot of hype surrounding the game, the fact that Destiny got a confirmation for Xbox One is hardly a surprise. And the credit for this goes to Activision, who is publishing the game.

“Today, we’re happy to announce that we’ve added a fourth console to the list of Destiny platforms. Destiny will ship on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the recently announced Xbox One. We’re excited by the opportunity to reach more players than ever before, and we can’t wait to show you more of what we’ve been up to at this year’s E3,” Bungie wrote on its official page.

Destiny is said to be set seven hundred years into the future in a post-apocalyptic setting. The game puts the player in a universe where humans have spread out and colonized planets in the Solar System until an event known as "the Collapse" sees the mysterious dissolution of these colonies, leaving mankind struggling on the brink of extinction.

Destiny is currently scheduled for a 2014 release. More details have been promised at E3 2013.
