The most recent trailer for the new Superman film Man of Steel puts the iconic villain General Zod on in the spotlight, who comes with a message and a warning for the people of Earth and Superman.
The new trailer focuses almost entirely on Michael Shannon's villainous General Zod who seems to be desperate to hunt down his fellow Kryptonian. The second trailer surpasses the austere and hopeful mood of the previous previews and shows a darker tone of the storyline.
"My name is General Zod. I have journeyed across an ocean of stars to reach you. Your world has sheltered one of my citizens. He will look like you, but he is not one of you," the Kryptonian villain Zod says. "To those of you who know of his location, the fate of your planet rests in your hands. To Kal-El, I say this: Surrender within 24 hours or watch this world suffer the consequences."
This is the first time fans are getting glimpse of the action, which also elaborates on the conflict in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot. It's heavily anticipated that the showdowns between the two Kryptonians will be of epic proportions. The story will yet again retell how Superman first came to Earth from Krypton and grew up to become the greatest hero on the planet.
The role of Superman (Kal-El) is played by Henry Cavill and Amy Adams is Lois Lane. While Kevin Costner and Diane Lane star as Clark Kent's Earth parents, Russell Crowe plays Kal-El's Kryptonian birth father Jor-El. The Christopher Nolan-produced reboot boasts an all-star cast including Christopher Meloni, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Kelly, Richard Schiff, Harry Lennix, and Ayelet Zurer. The film will open in cinemas on June 14, 2013 and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
