Several "Pokemon GO" players noticed recently that there have been new Pokestops and Gyms that were been added in some areas. Latest reports claim that Niantic has been adding new Pokestops and Gyms secretly especially in rural areas or small towns.
According to a report from Pokemon GO Hub, a "Pokemon GO" player from Wyoming, West Virginia figured out how to add new Pokestops and Gyms. The player uploaded several portal images to important Ingress portal and it resulted in them being turned to Pokestops. The "Pokemon GO" player reported getting three new Pokestops for his area.
Niantic has been discreetly converting several important Ingress portals to Pokestops or Gyms in "Pokemon GO" over the past few weeks, but only portals that have portal images. Reports say that Niantic has been converting what they call "Seed Portals" like post offices, fire departments, churches, libraries etc.
But, how did the player added new Pokestops in "Pokemon GO?" Reports say that, for those players who want to add new Pokestops or Gyms, they must first submit portal pictures using Ingress. First, players should take and submit portal images for culture or administrations oriented portals and then provide good description for the images.
After submitting, players should wait for the approval of the Ingress Team. Over the following two weeks, some of those submitted portals will become new Pokestops or Gyms in "Pokemon GO." Players should make sure that the pictures are in a high quality and it should represent the portal or Pokestop correctly. Niantic is known for their very strict image policy. It is not going to work if players are just uploading something that's not representing the location correctly.
Niantic hasn't confirmed this yet but there are several players that are already following this new trick. We'll let you know soon if this really works. Stay tuned to GameNGuide for more tips and tricks for "Pokemon GO."
