The Golden State Warriors could look to find help in their interior offense and defense. Now that the Sacramento Kings' part owner, Shaquille O'Neal expressed that they are willing to let go of DeMarcus Cousins, it would be logical to trade for the big man for Klay Thompson, who carries a similar contract.
The disappointment of the Golden State Warriors upon losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals is something they still have to avenge after losing a 3-1 deficit and putting the best NBA regular season record of 73-9 to be deemed useless.
Enter Kevin Durant, who the Golden State Warriors look for to be their Jesus Christ in a basketball jersey and bring them back to the promise land. Acquiring the player who is arguably the second best player behind LeBron James, it took a lot for them and gave up a lot of in size by losing Harrison Barnes, Andrew Bogut, Festus Ezeli and Marreese Speights.
The Golden State Warriors are now left with an undersized power forward, Draymond Green to carry the load in the paint and that could make it difficult for them to win playoff games. Adding DeMarcus Cousins would seem to be the logical answer to the woes of the team.
Klay Thompson, who is currently battling with Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant for touches and shots, took a huge dip in his numbers. Not to mention, Andre Iguodala - the 2015 NBA Finals MVP - was left out of the rotation.
Adding DeMarcus Cousins to the Golden State Warriors lineup would look like this: PG - Stephen Curry, SG - Andre Iguodala, SF - Kevin Durant, PF - Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins will be playing the five position.
By just looking at the lineup on paper, the team seemed more balance from offense to defense, interior and perimeter presence plus a slasher to help them get free throws.
Golden State Warriors coach, Steve Kerr already said that they have no intention to trade Klay Thompson but of course we all know that once a good deal comes, they will pull the trigger.
