It was only two years ago when "NCIS" was proclaimed as the most-watched drama in television. But that does not seem to be the case now that "NCIS" Season 14 is airing. News of its cancellation continue to hound the show that has seen its viewers rating dropping since last season. Now an update says that Michael Weatherly, who played Tony DiNozzo for 13 season in "NCIS" will return in order to save the show.
"NCIS" Season 14 has never been the same when Michael Weatherly left the series in the final episode of season 13. Fans will remember that DiNozzo, Weatherly's character, was bombarded by the news that he had a child with Ziva. He then left "NCIS" in order to care for their child.
But "NCIS" Season 14 has been suffering greatly and now there are talks that Weatherly, who has another CBS show, "Bull", will be coming back in order to save the show from cancellation. But fans are speculating that even though DiNozzo might be returning, it might not be enough to save "NCIS" season 14 from cancellation.
Now there are even talks that another star, Mark Harmon, is also leaving "NCIS" Season 14. Harmon, who was recently recognized as America's Most Favorite TV Personality, might be looking for better opportunities elsewhere, according to Morning Ledger. He has been playing the role of Jethro Gibbs for more than a decade, and maybe he feels that it is time for other endeavors.
Harmon's departure from "NCIS" season 14 could also be due to the fact that his dog bit one of the crew in the set of "NCIS" Season 14. Although the crew member was able to recover, he did require stitches for his wound.
"NCIS" Season 14 is just of the shows that is being plagued by cancellation news. Other shows include "Criminal Minds" and even "Suits." Fans of "NCIS" season 14 will just have to wait and see whether Michael Weatherly's return can save the series.
