Though EA has stopped development on Wii U development, Ubisoft is still dedicated to Nintendo's struggling next-gen console according to Gameindustry International.
A spokesperson for the Watch Dogs developer gave the online publication this statement:
"As with any new console, it takes some time to grow an established base. Ubsoft has a varied and high-quality line for Wii U, with more big titles on the way including Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and Splinter Cell Blacklist. We're confident that this will help in continuing to attract gamers to the Wii U system and that Nintendo will take steps to ensure that the Wii U is successful in the market."
Ubisoft has been the most successful third party developer for Nintendo, going on to lend both Wii and Wii U exclusive launch titles. During the Wii's life cycle, the French developer created both Red Steel and Just Dance (eventually moving to PS3 and Xbox360) for the console. The Wii U even saw the release of the exclusive ZombiU.
Recently, Ubisoft has come under fire for delaying previous console exclusive Wii U in order for simultaneous release on Playstation 3 and Xbox360 also.
Nintendo's Wii U has struggled since its release last November. Lackluster sales of the system forced the Kyoto company to cut fiscal year sales projections by seventeen percent. Software developers including EA, Avalanche Software and Insomniac Games seemingly have all given up hope on the console. In fact, EA senior software engineer and architect Bob Summerwill took to Twitter to bash the Wii U just a couple of days after EA announced that it didn't have any games currently in development for the console.
"The WiiU is crap. Less powerful than an Xbox360," Summerwill said before deleting the tweets. "Poor online/store. Weird tablet. Nintendo are walking dead at this point."
