The PlayStation 5 may be Sony's next best promise to the fans, more vital that console competition is moving quickly into the open. That being said, whatever might be rumored on the hardware so far could play the biggest part to Sony.
Some may know Sony's prime hardware offerings for the time being, namely the PlayStation 4 Pro and the PlayStation 4 Slim as the best ever done so far. Competition-wise, the Xbox One Scorpio by Microsoft seems to pose the biggest threat, followed by the supposed proposed Nintendo NX which is said to be a handheld-console hybrid. Nevertheless, the company may have other plans up their sleeves now that they refuse to officially disclose.
According to a tweet by Takashi Mochizuki that talked of the potential release of the PlayStation 5-which unfortunately, may not be anytime soon. At the earliest, it could happen around the second half or even beyond 2018, since there is a way being paved for the progression of the PlayStation 4 Pro and the PlayStation 4 Slim. This, in particular, is Damian Thong who accurately predicted the two aforementioned consoles' release.
While the talk of a launch might be interesting, the competition and upper hands of the PlayStation 5 is still considerably more vital. Having the capacity for 4K gaming, the said hardware is expected to topple the others with also a presumed compatibility to the Virtual Reality headset. Contrary to what most people have thought of, the PlayStation 5 will not be the last in line as well, as console technology also progresses drastically through the years, as reports claimed.
For the moment, the company is still under a testing phase that does not necessarily involve the PlayStation 5, especially as Sony wishes to deliver better graphic upgrades from thereon. Until Sony finally announces a fixed release date, the 2018 marker is still to be taken as a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more news and updates only here at GamenGuide.
