You may now enjoy "Overwatch's" latest patch in the Public Test Region or PTR. We're here to help you get into the game. Just follow these simple steps.
To participate in PTR, first, get a licensed "Overwatch" game for Windows PC. Connect "Overwatch" Game to Battle.net account. Make sure that the account hasn't been suspended or banned. Restart Battle.net app on your Windows PC. Next, go to the "Overwatch" tab on the left-hand menu then go to region/account, select PTR: "Overwatch" from the drop-down menu. Click install and wait for the installation process. Once PTR client is installed and updated, click play. Lastly, have fun!
It is important that you have already installed and played the game at least once to access the PTR. If PTR is still not available after following the steps, try to log into "Overwatch." Then, exit game client before launching PTR again.
PTR is only available on Windows PC. Accounts from all regions, except China, can participate. PTR will be hosted in the US region, so regions outside the US will have to expect a lower performance and increase latency but still enjoy "Overwatch" latest parches none the less. PTR can support up to 10,000 players.
With "Overwatch" latest patch, progress in the live game is copied to PTR automatically. It will be based on an earlier copy of your account, so depending on when you last played, your PTR account may have delayed updates from the live account. However, progress in the PTR game will not be transferred to the live game.
There's a new hero in "Overwatch" latest patch: Sombra, an offense character. Sombra is an infamous hacker who uses information as a weapon. The Arcade is a new feature in the latest patch. Players can customize by changing the game modes, maps, and rulesets. There's also a new Arena map: Ecopoint Antartica. It was an old Overwatch Installation. It has multiple new game modes that you should check out in the arcade.
Here's another thing to look forward with "Overwatch" latest patch. It's season 2 of competitive play. Season 2 ends on 23 November 2016 4pm PDT. 3rd season starts on 30 November 2016 4 pm PDT. During the 1-week off season, players can still go for Competitive Play but it will not affect skill rating and no rewards for competitive points. Skill Rating Systems will be adjusted for season 3. Players will be distributed more broadly across skill tiers. Players will anticipate lower skill rating in season 3 compared to the previous season.
