However, Square Enix is remaining tight-lipped on any information surrounding the highly anticipated game. That's why "Final Fantasy" brand manager Shinji Hashimoto recently told fans to be patient about the release of the game.
We recently reported that any details surrounding "Final Fantasy 7" Remake will only be unveiled after "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" gets released this January 2017. The latest news surrounding "Final Fantasy 7" Remake is that the game is currently underway. Hashimoto recently graced the Lucca Comics & Games 2017 convention in Italy, where he took the time to talk about the franchise, as per Attack of the Fanboy.
One of the things Hashimoto spoke of was "Final Fantasy" Remake, about which he tells fans to be patient about the release of the game. As for the rumored 2017 release date of "Final Fantasy 7" Remake, he said that it is not true and not to believe it.
Aside from clearing up any rumors about "Final Fantasy 7" Remake, Hashimoto also unveiled that "FF12 Remaster: The Zodiac Age" currently underway. He added that there's no release date attached to the game just yet, as per Square Enix.
According to Silicon Era, Hashimoto also hinted at "Final Fantasy 16," which will not necessarily be set in modern times. He admitted that while they don't have anything concrete yet for the upcoming game, he encourages fans not to assume that it will be in the same setting as its predecessor.
