MacBook Pro Release Date, News & Update: Apple Prepares First Shipments; Graphic Designers, Video Editors Disappointed With Performance? Dell XPS 15 Great Alternative?

A batch of MacBook Pro with Touch Bar orders have been updated, with a number of early buyers being told that the order was ready for shipment and may likely to be delivered as early as Friday afternoon. Some preorder customers are reporting that the tech giant company is already preparing the first batch of shipments of both 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.

Majority of the users who noticed credit card charges made on Monday are seeing "preparing for shipment" status update. The first shipments appear to be limited only to those who made their orders on the day of, or early the day after, the Oct.27 "Hello Again" event.

The dates Nov 11 and Nov. 17 are the expected delivery dates for the first wave of shipments. However, some of the first batch of buyers are reporting a date range ending as late as Nov.25, while second batch may likely to happen between Dec 5 to 15.

Furthermore, a lot of Apple stores already have demonstration units of the upcoming MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. Most of these stores are expecting a couple of "baseline" models for potential customers to buy on or around Nov.15, with other retail stores such as Best Buy expecting limited volumes around Nov.17.

Meanwhile, even though most people have not gotten their hands on one of the new MacBook Pros, there are already some professionals, including video editors and graphic designers who are disappointed by them. For these individuals, specs are what matters the most, according to CNET.

Meanwhile, the all new Dell XPS 15 laptop competes fairly against the 15-inch MacBook Pro when it comes to both specs and price. The device sports a 15-inch 4K display that renders 100 percent of RGB color space of Adobe, which is a huge plus for those who are into editing photos and videos.

Some of the main advantages of the Dell XPS 15 over the MacBook Pro include its touchscreen feature, 4K display, HDMI, SD card reader, 32GB of RAM and Thunderbolt 3. It is priced at $1,850, which is another plus. Watch video about Hands-on: Apple's 2016 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar
