While other celebrities threatened to move to Canada following the results of the recently conducted U.S. presidential election, Ellen DeGeneres opted to give a message of hope to her audience on her show. The talk show host even gave an analogy about the snakes and baby iguana.
Ellen DeGeneres compared Donald Trump to an alcohol in her talk last Thursday with reference to Kanye West's thoughts on champagne and cranberry vodka. Though she thinks that a lot of people were disappointed, she wants to ensure that everybody feels good and hopeful.
The "Finding Dory" star even quoted Eleanor Roosevelt's thoughts that rather than cursing in the darkness, it is better to light a candle instead. A video from "Planet Earth II" that went viral this week was about a baby iguana who was able to escape the beach that was full of snakes. Ellen DeGeneres played the video in her show hoping that the people will feel better.
Looking at the video, one can see how the baby iguana got caught by the hungry snakes and yet at the end, it was still able to get away. Not that Ellen DeGeneres was referring to Donald Trump as one of the snakes, but she said that whatever snake people has in their life, there is hope, just like the baby iguana.
In the past, Ellen DeGeneres has been rumoured that her partner was leaving her because the talk show host does not want to have a baby. Portia De Rossi was reportedly hurt by Ellen DeGeneres' inconsiderate treatment towards her desire to be a mother, even if it means adopting a child. However, all is well with the couple as they have just celebrated their wedding anniversary this year.
Celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres can either inspire or discourage their fans. The talk show host just wanted to let everyone know that everything is going to be okay.
