Samsung has long been using flexible displays in its smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, but it might take the technology to a whole new level. The Korean tech giant is set to reclaim its reputation in the industry with its reportedly new innovation of a fully-foldable smartphone which will be called Galaxy X.
The hype over the Samsung Galaxy X has escalated following a leaked patent that reveals Samsung's possible plans of a fully-foldable smartphone codenamed as Project Valley. As per Slash Gear, the Galaxy X might not be aesthetically pleasing to everyone considering its less smartphone physique but looking more like a hybrid of a Motorola RAZR, when laid out flat, and a Microsoft Surface Book hinge, when folded.
Furthermore, Android Headlines reported that Samsung used a hinge system in the center of Galaxy X to enable the device to fold over. As such, this specification might separate key components of Galaxy X into two screens considering that there will be two different halves. Likewise, the design of Samsung Galaxy X is longer and wider in contrast to the appearance of mainstream smartphones.
As these details remain an inked in a paper, anticipating consumers must treat this news with a pinch of salt as designs and specifications of Samsung Galaxy X are still subject to change. If rumors are to be believed, however, Samsung will launch Galaxy X sometime in 2017. The tech giant, on the other hand, has not yet released any official statement or details about the release or even if the Samsung Galaxy X is underway.
Considering, however, the fiasco over the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung is likely to pull something off its sleeves. If everything is to go well, Samsung Galaxy X could revolutionize the technology of smartphones. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
