According to a report from Fabnews, Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog's creative director, confirmed that it took three and a half years for their team to complete the original game, "The Last of Us." If we consider the time of completion, "The Last of Us 2" might be completed between the year 2020 and 2021. The developer also has a lot of factors to consider before making the game.
If ever "The Last of Us 2" would be launched on the said years, a VR support and a 4K display might be possible considering the very fast improving gaming technology nowadays. One year is already a long time in the tech industry, how much more the games will improve in the year 2020 and 2021. "The Last of Us 2" might even run in a 5K display or even higher by the time it would be launched. And, who knows, it might also be playable through new gaming platforms like Nintendo Switch.
