"The Originals" Season 4 is set to air in 2017. Many fans have been doubtful whether or not the crossover with "The Vampire Diaries" is ever going to happen.
Klaroline Still Possible?
In "The Originals" Season 4, Klaus Mikaelson, portrayed by Joseph Morgan, needs help getting out of his prison. Many believe that Caroline Forbes, played by Candice King, from "The Vampire Diaries," is his best bet. While it is definitely hard to execute the so-called Klaroline love story, Caroline could still play a vital role in "The Originals." She could then save Klaus in another capacity.
Hope, portrayed by Summer Fontana, the daughter of Klaus, could still be her father's savior. She could then pave the way for the crossover between "The Originals" Season 4 and "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.
In "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, Caroline is actually engaged to Stefan, portrayed by Paul Wesley. This makes her potential love interest with Klaus almost impossible. However, this does not necessarily mean that the crossover with "The Originals" Season 4 is not happening despite the lack of Klaroline.
"The Originals" Season 4 will be set five years after the events of the last season. This then means that Hope is no longer a baby. Also, being the daughter of Klaus, Hope is bound to gain a boost in her power and skills. Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, is giving her best to keep Hope safe, but then struggles with her power.
This is where Caroline could actually come in. She could help Hayley manage Hope's powers. It would be truly interesting to see Caroline and Klaus back together. However, many fans of "The Originals" Season 4 might not be hoping for this to happen. "The Originals" Season 4 will also be focusing more on the bonding moments between Klaus and Hope.
New Villain and Schedule
According to reports, "The Originals" Season 4 will also be seeing a new and very powerful villain. This could also be another opportunity for a character in "The Vampire Diaries" to appear in "The Originals" Season 4. It has also been reported that the crossover will absolutely happen, so fans need not worry.
"The Originals" Season 4 is scheduled to premiere next year at The CW. "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 then airs every Friday at 8PM.
