Injustice: Gods Among Us: 5 Characters Who Didn’t Make The Cut

Probably the greatest thing about Injustice: Gods Among Us is the fact that there are so many playable super heroes (and villains) to choose from. Starting from Batman, Flash, Green Lantern and Catwoman to Solomon Grundy, Harley Quinn, Cyborg and Joker.

While there are a lot of DC characters to choose from in Injustice: Gods Among Us, there are a few who just missed out of Warner’s list. Here’s a list of the characters that didn’t make the cut for the game.

Blue Beetle: While most of you are thinking that just because I mentioned Blue Beetle, it means that I’m dealing with the original Blue Beetle Dan Garret, but that’s not it. Let’s shift our focus from Dan Garret to Ted Kord, the replacement.

Kord was a former student of Garrett's, a genius inventor and a talented athlete. While investigating Kord's Uncle Jarvis, both of them learnt that Jarvis was working to create an army of androids to take over Earth. Later, Garrett changed into Blue Beetle, but was killed in battle. While he died, he passed on the responsibility of being the Blue Beetle to Kord.

Kord was later captured by a renewed Checkmate organization led by Maxwell Lord and executed with a gunshot to the head. Blue Beetle, similar to Batman, uses his intelligence and technology to track down bad guys.

Power Girl: Talk about bringing a bit of sexiness into Injustice, nobody quite fits the bill as Power Girl. Power Girl, also known as Karen Starr, is perfect for the role, sporting her famous bob of blond hair, a distinctive white, red, and blue costume, and an aggressive fighting style.

Power Girl is the Earth-Two counterpart of Supergirl and the first cousin of Kal-L (Superman of the pre-Crisis Earth-Two), and although she left Krypton the same time that Superman did, her ship took much longer to reach Earth-Two.

Basically, she is the perfect female version of Superman with all the classic Kryptonian powers: super strength, flight, super speed, invulnerability, x-ray vision, telescopic vision, microscopic and heat vision, freeze breath, and super-hearing.

Fighting with or against her with Superman around would have been a treat.

Atrocitus: Hello! Is anybody even aware that Atrocitius is an epic alien supervillain in DC universe? And still he has not been included. That’s a major “injustice” done to Injustice.

Atrocitus sports a Red Lantern power ring similar to that of a Green Lantern's, except that Atrocitus’ ring is powered by rage rather than willpower. Interestingly, the full extent of a red power ring's powers has yet to be revealed, but it was stated that the red ring acts as their heart and pumps the rage-filled blood out of their body through their mouth.

If that’s not cool enough to make it to Injustice, I don’t know what is.

Darkseid: Darkseid is the very definition of pure evil, as far as the DC universe is concerned. Basically, his dedicated sinister nature would have been a cool inclusion to the ranks of Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Darkseid has often been described as one of the most powerful and evil characters in the DC Universe, and has managed to feature in as many as four decades of DC Comics publications. One feature that will be missed with the lack of Darkseid is his ability to shoot time-travelling bullets. This was the same ability he used to kill his son when he shot a bullet through time.

We would definitely like to see an addition like that in the Injustice roster but Warner clearly had other plans. However, there’s nothing like a good DLC release that can’t solve such problems. Maybe Warner has Darkseid somewhere in its mind.

Zatanna: Zatanna Zatara’s magic powers and her ability to create mayhem with it will be missed. What we all tend to forget is that having a magic-based character around gives you the option of carrying out a number of combo moves. And how useful is that in a fighting game?

Zatanna’s abilities are genetic, and she usually casts spells by speaking verbal commands backwards. She also has the ability to cast spells by writing them in her own blood rather than speaking them aloud, although this power is used as a last choice.
