UFC Latest News & Update: Jon Jones Stripped Off Title After One Year Suspension

Last Wednesday, Jon Jones, the reigning UFC Lightweight champion holder, was stripped from his title days after he received a one-year suspension due to a failed drug test prior to his game against Daniel Cormier in UFC 200. Will the MMA fighter still continue his career?

During an interview, Dana White, the president for UFC franchise, announced that he saw Jon Jones as the greatest talents in UFC history but also referred to him as the biggest screw-up ever. After he imposed a one-year suspension penalty on the MMA fighter, the franchise decided to strip Jones from his Light Heavyweight Championship title.

Disappointed President Shows Dismay

Jones had been breaking all the rules not just one but in two occasions wherein he was not allowed to fight in the cage for several years already. In fact, drug tests showed that he had consumed two banned substances for MMA fighters before his UFC 200 fight that another penalty was imposed upon him for the second time in a row, reported MMA Fighting.

Furthermore, White also manifested that Jones has broken the trust of the organization for several instances that he was deemed to be unappreciative and undeserving to hold the Light Heavyweight Championship title for longer.

The Sins Of The Great

Jones was tested positive of consuming a sexual-performance pill before his July fight card. In fact, the association attested that the MMA fighter was at fault for not observing proper diligence when he took the pill knowing he was expected to fight by July 2017. After which, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced that Jones was not guilty of drug cheat but was reckless with his intake. In fact, it was unveiled that the sexual-enhancement medicine Cialis was a peptide version. Although Cialis was not banned by the USADA, the version that he took contained two banned substances, reported USA Today.

As was manifested by UFC news, Jon Jones was stripped off of the Light Heavyweight title due to his consistent violations. Will the fighter see the ring ever again?
