Seeing that they got a big push from futility, Niantic is believed to be following up its in-game Halloween event with a Thanksgiving offering. Considering that this special event allowed “Pokemon Go” to rise atop the app charts and rack in $2.3 million in just a week, Niantic will undoubtedly want to try and do it again.
As mentioned in a previous post, Niantic could kick off festivities somewhere near Nov. 24, the actual date of Thanksgiving. Similar to the things that occurred during Halloween, expect some new spawns appearing here and there, mostly the feathered-kind.
The list could include the likes of Spearow, Fearow, PsyDuck, Golduck, or even Slowpoke among others plus some tweaks in bonuses and goodies. Walking distance tied up to the Buddy Pokemon system could get a reprieve as well, probably decreased a bit for a limited time. But other than doing it for the sake of Thanksgiving, Niantic could also be rolling out new updates to the game.
This may include increased spawn rates and sightings for “Pokemon Go” players, most likely the critters mentioned earlier plus more, Slash Gear reported. Other much-awaited features include the changes in egg-hatching and the coveted improved ‘nearby’ tracking feature, which has been so far limited to regions around San Francisco.
Daily quests are another feature for “Pokemon Go” that many would want to see plus the changes made in Pokemon Gyms. As one can see, there is a lot to expect from "Pokemon Go" between now and Christmas, perhaps the big event that Niantic needs to make extra special.
They witnessed success with the ghost-types so it may be high-time to give other Pokemon types a share of the limelight. With the efforts exerted by Niantic so far, here is hoping that the new features will be beneficial to gamers – both the hardcore and returning ones who are looking for something new in “Pokemon Go”.
