Last night's episode of Dancing with the Stars. Showstoppers Night, was truly a show stopper as partners perform broadway musical inspired routines. The episode showed Laurie Hernandez and Jana Kramer emerging on top and advancing to next week's semifinals.
Jana Kramer paired with professional dancer Gleb Savchenko manages to be one of the top performances (Best Dance of the night Runner up) with a waltz dance routine (inspired by Waitress) despite Savchenko knee being injured. Kramer has shown exponential growth on her stint on the show. Jana has grown into her role as a female dancer. It is seen in her performance when she received a well-deserved standing ovation. The routine received 40 points from the judges.
Jana Kramer's fellow semifinalist Laurie Hernandez with her partner Val Chmerkovski hailed as " Best Dance of the Night" with their Argentine Tango (inspired by Chicago) but the victory seemed to be tainted by controversy when the 16 year old athlete was way too steamy during her routine. Has the 16-year-old athlete cross the line? That question is rather difficult given that the sexy and precise movements are a vital part of the dance. Judges gave the pair a perfect 40 points.
Jana Kramer and Laurie Hernandez's routines were complemented by succeeding routines by Terra Jole and pro Sasha Farber Jazz (Charleston Sweet Charity) scoring 38/40, Calvin Johnson and pro Lindsay Arnorld Waltz (Cats) scored 37/40.
In addition, the six remaining couples including Jana Kramer and Laurie Hernandez paired off for three team up routines. The team of Jana/Gleb and Laurie Val's contemporary routine got a score of 40/40.
At the end of the night both Laurie Hernandez and Jana Kramer made it into the semi final round, with the pair of Marilu Henner and pro dancer Derek Hough were eliminated saying goodbye to the Dancing with the Stars stage. Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
