If you're a "Mafia 3" player and you're already looking for new content for the game after beating it, then here's something for you to cop and celebrate. The developers of the game have put out a new free DLC update for all players, and it's looking pretty sweet.
"Mafia 3" new "Golden Gun" DLC, also called the "Judge, Jury, and Executioner" pack, is now available to everyone who preordered the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and/or PC. GameSpot reports that the DLC contains a new .30 caliber rifle, a shotgun, and a silenced pistol -- all made of gold.
According to DualShockers, the rifle brings with it a longer range and better accuracy, while the golden shotgun and pistol have higher rates of fire and ammo capacity. This won't be the only free DLC coming for "Mafia 3," though.
There's a customizable vehicle pack coming on the way, giving players new customization and performance-boosting options for cars in "Mafia 3." There's no word yet on when this particular update will be arriving, however, but it should be coming out sometime before the end of the year.
There's definitely space to put out more substantial expansion DLCs, additional stories and chapters that players are sure to be willing to pay for. "Mafia 3" did really well in its first week, doing numbers of at least 4.5 million, a figure that breaks publisher Take-Two's initial sales records, according to reports.
However, this is only a number that represents the amount of copies shipped to retailers, and not exactly the amount of units sold to consumers, and certainly not the amount of money "Mafia 3" made. The New Orleans-inspired installment of the crime game series rated decently among gaming publications. It won praise for its more than solid storytelling but drew criticisms for other aspects of its gameplay experience.
