Tension will rise in episode 5 of “Chicago Fire” Season 5 when Lt. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) have an argument over the cause of the fire where Casey failed to save a woman from a burning house.
In the “Chicago Fire” episode titled “I Held Her Hand”, Casey is of the belief that the victim’s husband committed arson which Severide strongly disagrees with according to TV Guide. The latter believes the husband could not have possibly killed his own wife. Their differing opinions have also become the highlight of the promo video for the upcoming episode.
The first shots of the sneak peek for the next episode of “Chicago Fire” show a witness claiming that the husband indeed killed the woman. Casey stands firm with his theory and toward the end of the promo video, he can be seen challenging Severide to prove his contradicting theory.
The heated debate between Casey and Severide doesn’t look like it will end by the episode 5 as the synopsis for the following episode 6 of “Chicago Fire” titled “That Day” indicates that the two men will still be investigating the arson case.
Elsewhere in the same episode of “Chicago Fire”, Dawson (Monica Raymund) and Brett (Kara Kilmer) will answer a call to help a teenage boy injured while witnessing a romantic homecoming proposal. Whereas Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) will have a surprise guest but the synopsis is quite vague on who it is.
According to Spoilers Guide however, EP Michael Brandt revealed that a character who first appeared back in Season 1 of “Chicago Fire” named Jimmy will be returning to pursue a firefighting career. A video from the report reveals that Boden will be dealing with this.
Due to Tuesday being election night, episode 5 of “Chicago Fire” Season 5 will be aired on November 15 to give way to NBC’s election coverage.
