"Overwatch" fans got some great news at the opening of BlizzCon on Nov. 4. It was announced that the game will get huge make-over that will totally improve the gameplay.
For one, "Overwatch" will get a new map called the Ecopoint: Antarctica. As its name suggest, it is a snow-covered scientific base station located in Antarctica. This is the same place where Mei was out in cryostasis for a long time following a polar storm that beset the territory.
This new "Overwatch" map is denser compared to the usual battlegrounds featured in the game. Then again, this was specially designed this way to suit the small-scale battles with no objectives.
Additionally, all new modes in "Overwatch" will also have a new Control map called Oasis. In contrast with the Ecopoint: Antarctica map, this one is set in the Arabian desert.
The "Overwatch" Ecopoint: Antarctica map will arrive on Nov. 8 while the Oasis map may still take a while before it becomes available for the gameplay. Most probably it will be up in the first quarter of 2017.
The other major addition to "Overwatch" is the Arcade game mode. This will replace the Weekly Brawl and players who participate in fights while this mode is on are given a loot box. They can earn as much as three loot boxes per week, provided that they win three matches in the Arcade mode.
The "Overwatch" Arcade modes will give players many options like the Mystery Duel, a 1v1 mode, 3v3 mode and the 6v6 battle. It should be noted that the 3v3 and 1v1 duel battle modes are featured in the new maps which are part of the Arcade mode.
Finally, Blizzard formally announced that the new hero called Sombra is coming to "Overwatch." After many speculations, the game developer finally affirmed that the genius hacker is joining the roster of heroes in the gameplay.
