The Alcatel Idol 4S runs on the Microsoft Windows 10 OS. It also has Windows Hello and Continuum. The device has 4G LTE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Alcatel Idol 4S measures 153.9 x 75.4 x 6.99mm. The device also features a VR headset and case, the Quick Charge 2.0 charger and a USB Type-C cable.

The camera of the Alcatel Idol 4S is generally easy to handle, although resolution may suffer in low light conditions and fast-moving subjects. The VR is decent, but users should not expect much from a smartphone.

Alcatel Idol 4S Features: Phone To Be Part Of Microsoft's Cloud-First Strategy

Forbes wrote that the Alcatel Idol 4S is unique because of its Microsoft Windows 10 OS. The device shows that Windows 10 can run on a smartphone, including those not made by Microsoft.

The Alcatel Idol 4S will be included in the cloud-first strategy of Microsoft. The driving force in software will be in cloud-based Microsoft accounts, with support from services like Office 365, instead of the Windows 10 OS and Office.

In effect, Windows 10 will be a service that taps into Microsoft's cloud in the same way that Xbox, Office 365 and Groove Music do. The Alcatel Idol 4S is proof that Windows 10 can run on as many platforms as possible.

The Alcatel Idol 4S will launch on Nov. 10, 2016. More updates and details are expected soon.
