Videogame publisher Activision has launched a teaser website for its next Call of Duty title, showing an image of Ghost, a key side character in the Modern Warfare subseries. According to a recent retailer listing, the next title, reportedly titled Call of Duty: Ghosts, will be announced on Wednesday, May 1.
There's not much on the website except for the Call of Duty logo and a mosaic. The mosaic clearly resembles the skull image seen on the Ghost's face mask. The site invites visitors to be a part of it by linking their social networking accounts to the page. The mosaic, created with Facebook and Twitter profile images of users, will add a fan's profile picture onto the mosaic image, which can be vaguely seen as you move the zoom viewer.
Many retailer listings and leaks have confirmed that this year's title is named Call of Duty: Ghosts and is being developed by Infinity Ward. Some of the outlet leaks ahead of time indicate that the game will be featured by a variety of retailers for different consoles including PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows PC and Wii U.
Various listings have given different release dates. While a leaked GameStop display blueprint sent to retail stores says the game will be revealed on May 1, another listing by Spanish retailer Xtralife shows Call of Duty: Ghosts' release date as November 11 and UK's biggest supermarket Tesco says the game will arrive on November 5.
