Political thriller "Homeland" is really back. The Season 6 trailer of the hit television series has recently been released by Showtime.
The almost 2-minute teaser showed the continuation of the show's storyline which is now set in New York City. The Big Apple seems to be filled with more action and mystery for "Homeland Season 6.

Character Dar Adal was seen in one clip confronting the main character Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) about her vulnerability. Mathison answered him with his own question about not understanding how vulnerable Carrie is.
For his part, showrunner Alex Gansa said the show will be more interesting when it returns on Showtime beginning January 15. "A transition and transfer of power is happening. In that 72 days, we're hopefully going to tell an interesting story. Whether the president is male or female, it's going to be a very interesting character," he added.
When will 'Homeland' Season 6 take place?
The period in which "Homeland" Season 6 takes place is the time between Election Day and Inauguration Day. It will happen months after Carrie was able to stop a terrorist attack in Berlin. The main character will be portrayed as a Brooklyn resident who is now linked to a foundation helping Muslims residing in the United States.
An official synopsis of the show revealed that "Homeland" Season 6 will happen during a transition in government where transfer of power between the incoming and outgoing Presidents of the United States become filled with complications. It will be quite interesting for the characters such as Danes, F Murray Abraham and Mandy Patinkin take on challenges in the Big Apple this time.
