iMac 2017 Latest News & Updates: MacBook Pro 2016 Touch Bar To Be Integrated Next Year?

Apple’s next iMac has yet to be revealed and the belief right now is that it may come out in 2017. The all-in-one solution was previously rumored to come out alongside the MacBook Pro 2016 but nothing debuted alongside the refreshed notebook.

The best bet is to wait for an iMac refresh in 2017 though most are eager to know what Apple may do to make it appealing. As mentioned in a previous post, it would not be surprising to see the Cupertino to try and overdo itself as it targets rival Microsoft’s Surface AIO devices.

A reason for the delay of the iMac is believed to be tied up with the availability of Intel’s Kaby Lake processors. Seeing how the MacBook Pro 2016 still came out with the Skylake CPU, previous rumors hinting that the Kaby Lake line deliveries may have been insufficient.

But what the MacBook Pro failed to add could be a positive for the iMac, using Kaby Lake chips which are more powerful and energy efficient. But other than that, what else could Apple offer to make the iMac 2017 an interesting buy?

Looking at the new line of features that Apple has employed, adding a Touch Bar feature for the iMac could be a sensible option. Similar to the MacBook Pro, the Touch Bar could take the place of the traditional function keys for the iMac.

This means that the iMac 2017 could eventually offer user menu-based tasks without turning to the use of a mouse or trackpad. It may not be a technology-breaking feature but it could be a dandy addition to the desktop users, per other reports.

Considering that the iMac 2017 is due for an overhaul, it could be a good feature to come alongside the expected Kaby Lake chipset. For now these should be taken lightly as Apple works on coming out with a game-changing all-in-one iMac next.
