4A Games’ upcoming first-person shooter title Metro: Last Light will be available on Sony’s next generation gaming console PlayStation 4, creative director Andrew Prokhorov has confirmed via a Ukrainian video interview.
The video interview was translated by the Metro: Last Light forums after it appeared on the Ukrainian site Itcchannel. Not only did Prokhorov confirm a PS4 port for the new game, but he also revealed more details about the game’s DLC and a standalone multiplayer title set to arrive soon.
Although the developer is planning a PlayStation 4 version of Last Light, it is still unknown when it could release. Prokhorov has hinted that the PS4 port of the game could arrive with Metro 2033, and this means that both games are scheduled for a release on the next gen console.
4A Games is planning to release a SDK that will be arriving with the multiplayer. As far as the multiplayer title is concerned, it will be releasing as a separate project and will be an Xbox Live Arcade game, in all probability. It was stated that the game will be released some six months after the release of Last Light.
It was also revealed that there will be five DLC story missions from the point of view of other characters. The company has also clarified that these are not cut content but rather additional content, and 4A Games started working on them after the game was finished. A Season Pass is also likely.
Metro: Last Light is currently set for a May 14 release in North America and May 17 in Europe for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
