Bethesda’s ‘The Evil Within’ Further Detailed, Will Be Powered By id Tech 5

A recent trailer for Bethesda's The Evil Within did its job of making the upcoming game seem scary. Now the developers putting out new details for the upcoming game.

The Evil Within will be running on id Tech 5, which should mean enhanced graphical output. However, the game's early screenshots are not impressive and hopefully will improve as the game's development goes along.

New details about the game, also known as Psychobreak in Japan, come from the company's Japanese site.

Here's what we know so far:

A Return to Pure Survival Horror: In The Evil Within, from the father of the survival horror genre, Shinji Mikami, players must survive on limited resources whiel experiencing action and horror. The player's anxiety and nerves will be pushed to the edge.

Brutal Traps and Enemies with Puzzles: While struggling to survive, players will have to face brutal traps, and sly mechanisms. Players can die in traps or turn them against enemies.

In an Unstable World, Not All Horrors are in Plain Sight: The player is driven into a corner as the world distorts and warps according to mysterious and evil horrors. Hallways, walls, doors, rooms, buildings, and even nature, will transform in real-time based on the player's actions.

The game's story revolves around Detective Sebastian and his partner who are investigating a gruesome murder by a mysterious and powerful force. When Sebastian wakes up after an attack, he finds himself in a land where monsters wander freely about.

Sebastian will have to fight his way through a world of death in order to escape. Along the way he will face his fear and discover what lies in the shadows.
