The Huawei Mate 9 is set to be announced soon. However, new leaked images surfaced, which showed more of its exterior and one of its available colors.
A couple of live images of the Huawei Mate 9 Manhattan was shown in a gold body color. The Huawei Mate 9 is said to come in two versions - the Manhattan and Long Island Mate 9 Pro, which features a dual-edge design.
However, the leaked Huwaei Mate 9 images did not show the Leica branding, which was present in all previously leaked photos. Also the dual-camera setup lacked a black inlay around the lenses, which was also available in previous renders. It is very likely that the two latest images are either fake or only an early mockup of the Huawei Mate 9.
Android Headlines wrote that the Huawei Mate 9 is not significantly different from the Mate 8 in terms of aesthetics, although it looks more refined. Huawei has teamed up with Leica again to create the camera for the phone. The two companies previously worked together to make the camera of the Huawei P8.
There are rumors that the Huawei Mate 9 will feature the new octa-core Kirin 960 chipset, a Quad HD 5.9-inch display, 4GB of RAM, 128 of internal memory, and the Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. The Huawei Mate 9 will also sport a 20MP and 12MP dual camera, USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio support, and a fingerprint sensor on the back.
Phone Arena reported that the Huawei Mate 9 is said to arrive in two versions. The Manhattan is the flat screen model, while the Long Island features a curved screen. The Huawei Mate 9 Long Island Pro version is said to feature more powerful specifications with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Both Huawei Mate 9 phones will feature the same display, processor, camera and connective capabilities. Both phones will have Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The Long Island version is said to be priced at around $705, so the Manhattan is expected to cost slightly less.
The Huawei Mate 9 is set to be announced on Nov. 3, 2016. More updates and details are expected in the coming weeks.
