"Mass Effect: Andromeda," the latest entry in the franchise that's already been delayed once, is finally coming soon. While it's rumored to come out by March 2017 at most, its publisher EA says it's willing to make fans wait a little longer in order for them to come out with a better game.
GameSpot reports that EA's Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen says that although "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is apparently stunning right now, they have no problems delaying the game if developer BioWare feels it's not ready. They also won't know how long a delay would be until they have to do it — it could be weeks, or it could be a matter of months.
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" was originally scheduled to release this year, but EA delayed the game to next year. The company gave no specific release date, only that it will put it out in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2016, meaning anytime from January to March 2017. A listing on Amazon for a "Mass Effect: Andromeda" art book hinted that the release date might be March 21, 2017, but this wasn't verified by EA.
EA showed a little more of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" in the PlayStation Meeting back in September. It reveal showed that the game will start a new chapter in the entire series and the male and female playable characters are actually siblings. "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will feature an almost completely different galaxy in space, with new worlds to explore and civilizations to interact with.
EA and BioWare are expected to reveal more about "Mass Effect: Andromeda" next week on November 7, which EA is calling N7. It's expected that a new trailer will drop, most likely on the offical "Mass Effect: Andromeda" website. EA actually put out a new teaser trailer yesterday, dropping more hints about the setting and story and hyping November 7.
