'No Shave November' vs. 'Movember': How Well Do Millenials Know Their Goal, and Which Charity Do They Choose?

Aside from Halloween, November also means No-Shave November for some millenials. But how many of them know this group?

Actually, No-Shave November is a group or charity that gather money for a good cause. Aside from this charity, the movement Movember is also encouraging every man to grow their facial hair for a good cause.

"Movember" vs. "No-shave November", what's the difference?

As a matter of fact, "Movember" and "No-shave November" are different groups although their names are similar sounding. Both groups are asking men not to shave this November for similar goals: raise money and awareness for good causes.

According to The Movember Foundation, the charity is only tackling men's health. "Movember" encourages men to grow a mustache for the entire month of November with the aim to raise funds for men's health advocacy.

Meanwhile, "No-Shave November" is a web-based, non-profit organization and their goal is to raise cancer awareness and raise funds to support cancer prevention, research and education, according to Sacbee.

Does it mean only men participate on this trend? As a matter of fact, women are also encouraged to participate. They can participate by growing a beard, letting their legs go natural by letting its hair grow and avoid waxing, and cultivate a mustache if they are physically able to do so.

WBTV interviewed men and women. Some people find facial hair is fashionable, but some are willing to ditch razors for a week for a good cause, just like Mr. Cureton who shaves every single day.

The network also spotted a woman who doesn't shave her legs. Overall, the people they interviewed are apparently ready for "No-Shave November".

"No-Shave November" started in 2009 by the Hill family to honor their father, Matthew. Their father died in 2007 from colon cancer.

For those who are asking which of them should they choose, here is the most important detail that need to know. Both charities are registered and legitimate non-profit organizations. So it means, both are legit.
