"Fallout 4" players are patiently waiting for the coming of mods for PS4 which were earlier made available for PC and Xbox One users. The anticipation is building after the release of mods for "Skyrim: Special Edition."
Mod support for consoles
Though limited, Bethesda has made Skyrim mods possible for consoles and it is planning to the same with its other games like "Fallout 4." "Mod support will come to Skyrim first. We and Sony have worked hard to make this possible," Bethesda said.
The video game publisher also noted that mods for the PS4 will give players the ability to make their own content using the Creation Kit which will be made available for them. External assets, which are restricted for consoles, cannot be uploaded but other assets in the game can be used.
Release date for PS4
Mods for Xbox One and PC have already been released but those for PS4 still do not have a specific date on when these are coming. "Fallout 4" fans are certainly hoping that mods will be added soon for the PS4 version to improve gameplay.
"Fallout 4's" development team has expressed plans of making the PS4 version almost the same as that of the Xbox One. Pete Hines explained they worked on it but was not approved by the company. "Whether it will change in the future, I don't know. It isn't up to me. We will continue to push to have mods work the same on all platforms," he added.
More mods coming
Bethesda has expressed gratitude to its fans for waiting and supporting them as they finalize the mods for "Fallout 4." It highlighted that the fans stayed with them and showed their support for a long time now.
The game publisher noted that mods have been an important part of the company and that it will remain a vital component of any game. Bethesda has vowed to develop and introduce more mods for the fans.
