The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has been successfully launched just recently in China and is expected to provide tight competition to other high-end smartphones available today. The device is somewhat the same with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, which is its direct rival. Below are some of the thorough comparison between the two devices.
Display-wise, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is equipped with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED dual-curved display, which is well-protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2, on the other hand, boasts a whopping, 5.7-inch dual-curved OLED flexible display that offers full HD resolution, according to report.
When it comes to process unit, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset while the Mi Note 2 packs the latest Snapdragon 821 processor. The latter also offers a much bigger 6GB RAM than the former's 4GB. Both devices run the Android Marshmallow, though, they are also expected to receive the Nougat update in the future, CNET reported.
Nothing beats the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 when it comes to camera as it sports an impressive 22.56MP rear and 8MP front facing snapper. This is way more superior than the Edge's 12.0MP primary camera and 5MP selfie snapper. The Mi Note 2 is also more superior than the S7 Edge when it comes to both strage and battery life.
Meanwhile, the Mi Mix, which is the latest smartphone of Xiaomi was initially introduced by the company in vague terms. It took an hour to introduce the phone's specs and design in Beijing. The phone was called a concept device.
Journalists who gathered at the said event only expected the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. However, the Mi Mix was also highlighted, leaving a lot of journalists questioning why Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, spend a lot of time discussing about the new device.
