The post had about 11,000 shares and the residents of Ferndale, Rhondda were alarmed after it warned them about keeping the children inside and to keep all the doors locked. The post mentioned that the Killer Clown Purge will start at their area by 7 in the evening and will last until about 12 midnight.
The Clown Purge hype was apparently referring to the movie entitled The Purge. In the movie, all crimes were legalized and everyone had the freedom to kill or hurt anyone that they felt deserved it. The crime spree would last for 12 hours and no one will be held accountable for whatever they will do. The authorities were quick to take action and gave a warning that the prank is no longer funny and that anyone caught wearing a clown costume to deliberately scare people, will be facing consequences.
