"Rainbow Six Siege" players waiting for some new content for the game won't have to wait too long, it seems. Although season four of the game has been kept under wraps for a while now, publisher Ubisoft is ready to go ahead with the next expansion.
The new "Rainbow Six Siege" expansion is called "Skyscraper," Game Rant reports. It's the Japanese expansion that was leaked and rumored all the way back in January, the time right after the game dropped. "Skyscraper," which is the game's fourth season DLC, had its footage leaked on Twitter, and it seems legit.
"Skyscraper" seems to be a Japanese map for "Rainbow Six Siege" that focuses on gameplay inside a, you guessed it, tall building. A restaurant at the penthouse, to be specific. The tight map seems to be best for ambush plays. Another rumored feature about the map is that there might be a defending Japanese operator with a special ability of summoning an aerial drone. The attacking Japanese operator, according to the video, will most likely have imploding grenades that would be strong enough to blow through thick, impenetrable walls.
Game Rant speculates that this is a move to help keep the batch of new "Rainbow Six Siege" players that came after the last DLC, "Operation Skull Rain." Ubisoft is attempting to push the game as an eSports title, and it's likely after now logging the most players it ever had since its release. The studio is now fixing the game to be as balanced and friendly to less-skilled players as possible.
"Rainbow Six Siege" has been out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC since December 2015. There's no word yet on when "Skyscraper," if that would be its final name, will be coming out, but keep it here for more updates.
