Benedict Cumberbatch News: Upcoming 'Doctor Strange' 'SNL' Keeps Him Busy, What Else?

Benedict Cumberbatch, the lead actor for the in coming movie "Doctor Strange", shared his intense preparation and training regime for the said movie.

Many may have not yet heard this movie which will be out in theaters in two weeks, but it gets a lot of pretty awesome reviews on the internet. The story follows a man named Stephen Strange who sets out to learn and understand the ways of mystic arts and eventually turn out to be the earth's defender from inter-dimensional threats.

The character of "Doctor Strange" has a muscular body like any typical superheroes, and Cumberbatch described what his superhero training regime was like. Each and every actor of the MCU must go an intense and hellish workout to attain the superheroic body figure just like Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and so Cumberbatch is no exemption. However, Cumberbatch opts for a slower but focused approach, which involves proper diet and exercise over a long period of time rather than lifting weights for hours till the end, Cinema Blend reported.

"The Imitation Game" actor Cumberbatch refers to this routine as the Shakespeare diet for the reason that he started this type of training while he was in London to perform "Hamlet". He described "Hamlet" as a three-hour cardiovascular workout and he got into good condition during that time. He goes back and forth in doing the "Hamlet" rehearsals and "Doctor Strange" spontaneously.

Meanwhile, Cumberbatch and Solange Knowles are set to host and perform for the next episode of the "Saturday Night Live". The actor is announced to host the NBC sketch show and the singer will be the musical guest before the presidential election. The "Star Trek Into Darkness" actor is on a media tour to promote his movie "Doctor Strange" while Knowles will also introduce her third studio album "A Seat at the Table," Ace Showbiz reported.

Cumberbatch also described "Doctor Strange" as pretty anti-physical. The live-action version of this movie seems to be more hands on its comics counterpart. "Doctor Strange" will be hitting the theaters in just a few short weeks on Nov. 4.  Watch video about "Doctor Strange" Official Trailer 2 here:
