Before "Skyrim: Special Edition" releases this weekend, compatible mods have been released for gaming consoles. There is, however, some bad news for PS4 gamers who will only have a few mods compared to Xbox One users.
The list of compatible mods has been released and showed that there are 65 available for the Xbox One. Owners of the console will be able to do a lot of things with their players and the game environment.
10 mods for PS4
On the other hand, the PS4 edition of the game only has a very limited 10 mods for players. These mods are also very basic and are not exciting for the players.
The reason behind this big gap is that Microsoft has allowed models created by users which are not part of the original game but Sony did not give such permission. This restriction has also restricted the number of mods that gamers can use on the "Skyrim: Special Edition."
Data cap
In addition to the limited number of mods, Xbox One users can install up to 5GB of data while the PlayStation variant should only use 1GB or less. But PS4 players should already be thankful for the 10 mods on the console since it was earlier hinted that no mods will be available for the PS4.
These weren't in the plans that Bethesda had originally anticipated and it seemed last month that we might not even see mods coming to PlayStation 4. "Until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available," said game publisher Bethesda in a statement.
'Skyrim: Special Edition' release date
"Skyrim: Special Edition" will be released on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on October 28. Some of the improvements expected are in graphics and the mods of the game. It will be offered for free to PC players who already purchased the original version of the game and its DLCs. Its usual price is pegged at $60.
